Is this your first time in Warsaw and you want to do a lot of sightseeing? Then we recommend booking a hotel in Warsaw’s southern center (Nowy Świat).

Staying here puts you almost exactly between the top attractions in Warsaw, and you can even reach most of them on foot.

There’s always something going on in Warsaw’s southern center. You’ll have countless restaurants, cafés, and bars right at your doorstep. Depending on your exact location, though, it can get a bit noisy at night.

A hotel in Warsaw’s Old Town is ideal for a romantic weekend getaway or history buffs who are willing to pay a little more for the atmosphere.

If you want to spend your vacation in Warsaw staying right in the most beautiful neighborhood in the city, you should book a hotel in Warsaw’s Old Town (Stare Miasto).

The atmosphere and old-town charm are especially lovely in the evenings. You’ll be right in the middle of one of Warsaw’s highlights and super close to the Royal Castle. Getting to other sights will take a little longer.

The heart of the Old Town is cobblestoned, but trams run right along the edge. You’ll need to walk a few minutes to reach the nearest metro station.

Unfortunately, the selection of quality accommodations in Warsaw’s Old Town isn’t large, and the value for money is worse than in other areas.

Accommodation in Powiśle is ideal if you want to experience the hip, creative side of Warsaw, go for a morning jog in greenery, or unwind by the river in the evenings.

Do you prefer things a little quieter, close to the Vistula, but still relatively central? Then we recommend booking a hotel in Warsaw’s Powiśle neighborhood.

Powiśle is different from the center or the Old Town: urban and modern, with a vibe that blends student cool, design shops, and craft beer bars — yet still very close to nature.

You can stroll along the wide Vistula promenade, and from the rooftop garden of the University Library you get a great view over the city. In the evenings, the neighborhood transforms into a laid-back nightlife strip.

The selection of hotels and restaurants in Powiśle is smaller, and it takes a bit longer to get to the sights than from the southern center.

Accommodation in Praga is perfect for you if you want to get away from the touristy neighborhoods and experience the real Warsaw. You’ll have peace and quiet here.

Would you rather stay in a non-touristy neighborhood in Warsaw? Then take a look at the Praga neighborhood. It’s located on the other side of the river.

Unlike the other neighborhoods, Praga is still very authentic. There are still a number of original buildings here that survived the war.

Also really cool: many of the old factories have been converted into galleries, clubs, and museums. On top of that, you’ll probably find the largest selection of authentic restaurants with traditional dishes here.

Hotels and accommodations are still relatively limited, though. Praga is connected to the metro, but getting to the sights and the city center takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
