Where We Stayed in Da Nang
During our trip to Vietnam, we stayed at the Seahorse Tropical Da Nang.
The hotel is located in a high-rise building. The upper floors house the hotel rooms, and down in the lobby you’ll find a café where breakfast is also served.
On the rooftop there’s a pool, and from up there you get a seriously great view of the city. The Seahorse Tropical also functions as a hostel, with an entire floor of dorms.
Overall, we were really happy with the Seahorse Tropical — the rooms were spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was tasty too.
Our Anna from 22places has also been to Da Nang. On her road trip she stayed at the Hadana Boutique Hotel and absolutely loved it.
It has large, modern rooms and a lovely rooftop terrace with seating areas — that’s also where breakfast is served.
The hotel is about 10–15 minutes from the beach. Walk straight down one street and you can jump right into the ocean. There’s also a pool on-site if you want to cool off without heading to the shore.

The Best Neighborhoods to Stay in Da Nang
When it comes to where to stay in Da Nang, we recommend these two areas:
- By the beach: Ideal if you want to be right by the ocean and stay in a trendy, lively neighborhood.
- In the city center: Perfect if you’re mainly in Da Nang for sightseeing and want a more authentic place to stay.
- Hội An: Instead of staying in Da Nang itself, you can base yourself in this neighboring town and take a day trip to Da Nang from there.

Staying on the Beach in Da Nang
Staying on the beach in Da Nang is your best bet if you want the ocean right at your doorstep and a cool, happening neighborhood all around you.
The beach district is hands down THE trendy neighborhood in Da Nang. Digital nomads and tourists mix with locals here — and together they create a really cool vibe.
On nice days, you’ll see plenty of people working out on the beach — volleyball, soccer, you name it. When the weather isn’t cooperating, you can kick back at a trendy restaurant or café.
There aren’t many sights right on the Da Nang beach strip, but the Marble Mountains, the Son Tra Peninsula, and Hội An are all easy to reach from here.

Staying in the City Center of Da Nang
The city center is the right choice if you’re only making a brief stopover in Da Nang or want to stay somewhere more authentically Vietnamese.
The city center feels more typically Vietnamese than the beach district. On the streets, you’ll mostly see locals and Vietnamese eateries rather than tourist-facing shops.
Visitors tend to gather mainly at the top attractions like the Dragon Bridge and the riverside promenade. In the evening, the night market is the place to be in downtown Da Nang.
Prices in the city center are generally lower than at the beach, and you’ll be close to the airport and bus terminal — handy if you’re moving on quickly.
Advantages of staying in the city center of Da Nang:
- The main sights are right nearby
- Short distance to the airport and bus terminal
- More authentic than the beach district, with lower prices
Disadvantages of staying in the city center of Da Nang:

Bonus Tip: Staying in Hoi An
If you’re doing a short road trip through Vietnam and don’t have much time in the country, we’d actually suggest skipping a hotel in Da Nang altogether and staying only in Hội An.
Hội An is the top highlight in Vietnam — full stop — and it’s about 45 minutes south of Da Nang by scooter. From there, a half-day trip to Da Nang is totally easy to pull off.
Advantages of staying in Hội An:
- You get to sleep in one of the most beautiful towns in Vietnam
- Wide selection of accommodation in all price ranges
- Hội An is smaller than Da Nang and you’re surrounded by more nature
Disadvantages of staying in Hội An:
