Budva’s Old Town is the main attraction of Budva and sits on a small peninsula surrounded by high city walls. Once you step through the city gates, you find yourself in winding cobblestone alleyways lined with charming stone buildings. We love Budva’s Old Town — especially because it’s far less crowded than the historic center of Kotor.

In Budva’s Old Town, you’ll mostly find apartments and a few small boutique hotels. You won’t come across the large hotel blocks you see along the beach. And you don’t have to walk far to reach the water — you can be splashing in the sea within five to ten minutes.

The one downside of the Old Town is that parking spots fill up quickly, especially during peak season.

We’d recommend a beachfront hotel in Budva if you’re mainly here for a beach vacation or want stunning views of the sea.

The beach is where you’ll find the most hotels in Budva. However, they tend to be no bargain. During peak season, expect to pay at least 150–180 euros per double room per night.

That said, you do get a fantastic sea view and you’re right on the sand. The beach in Budva is mostly fine pebbles and coarse sand — and the further you go toward the water, the larger the stones get. Pack water shoes.

Along the beachfront promenade, restaurants line up one after another. You definitely won’t go hungry.
