Hotel Glance

We love unique design hotels, and that’s why the Glance Hotel is our favorite among the best boutique hotels in Rome. It also makes our list of top Rome hotel tips.
Colorful wallpaper, stylish lamps, herringbone parquet in one room, terracotta tiles in another: every room is individually decorated, yet the overall interior design concept feels perfectly thought out.
You might think a place like this is pricey, but actually it’s not bad — especially for a boutique hotel in Rome’s city center. In high season, double rooms go for around 200 to 250 euros per night.
The location is another plus: you can walk here from the main train station, the Colosseum is about 15 minutes away, and you’re right in Rome’s trendiest district, Monti.
Casa Montani

We love the small boutique hotel Casa Montani above all for its location and charm.
It really offers the best of both worlds: because it’s just outside the very center, prices are lower than many other boutique luxury hotels in Rome. At the same time, you can still reach plenty of Rome highlights either on foot or quickly by metro.
There’s a Line A metro stop right outside the door, taking you straight to the Vatican and the main station.
And the little touches make it even better: breakfast is served directly in your room every morning. Fresh cappuccino and croissants in bed — perfect!
Tankara Suite

The Tankara Suite is a great mix of design, location, room size and price.
It has only three rooms, all large enough for at least three guests — so as a couple you’ll have plenty of space.
And the setting couldn’t be better: you’re right in Rome’s lively Trastevere district with its bars and trattorias, while the historic center is just across the river. It’s one of those affordable boutique hotels in Rome that let you enjoy both sightseeing and nightlife in equal measure.
Our tip: book a double room with a balcony facing the courtyard. That way you’ll escape the noise of the restaurants outside at night.
Tree Charme Parliament Boutique Hotel

The Tree Charme Parliament is the right choice if you want a boutique luxury hotel in Rome without making any compromises.
You’ll stay in style, right in the center, and still enjoy peace and quiet — plus you can reach many sights on foot.
If you like, the hotel can arrange an airport shuttle to pick you up and drop you off.
The room rates are on the higher side, but in the low season the value for money is excellent. And Rome in November is always worth it.
Boutique Hotel Lunetta

Location doesn’t get better than at Boutique Hotel Lunetta. From here you’re only minutes away from St. Peter’s Basilica, Piazza Navona and the Pantheon.
It’s one of the pricier boutique hotels in Rome’s city center, but the hotel’s own spa is included in the price. In the low season, that actually makes it a great deal.
The modern rooms are inside a 14th-century palace, which was already a hotel back then. Of course, it didn’t have flat-screen TVs or breakfast buffets at the time.
Pretty cool, right?
Gigli D'Oro Suite

We recommend the Gigli d’Oro Suite especially if you’re visiting Rome in the fall or winter months.
The air conditioning is floor-level and doesn’t cool enough for the hot summer, but in cooler seasons the rooms are cozy and welcoming. The wooden beamed ceilings make it feel extra charming, and prices are often a real bargain.
Please note: check-in is automated with a code. If you prefer less small talk, perfect. But if you like having someone on hand, another design hotel in Rome might be a better fit.
