In our opinion, Spain is the ultimate place for digital nomads. There is something for everyone in Spain: bustling cities, relaxed coastal towns and beautiful nature. You’ll definitely find a nice place to work remote.

Then there’s the delicious food, good weather, fast internet, good infrastructure and lots of coworking spaces. We can’t stop listing the advantages. But there’s one more: Spain is relatively cheap compared to other western countries.

Madeira even has its own nomadic village: Ponta do Sol. In the village, locals, businesses, and digital nomads all live together in a really great vibe.

Hungary

Hungary is a super diverse country. You have a mixture of lively cities like Budapest, relaxed wine regions, old castles, small villages, the Danube landscape, traditional culture, vibrant nightlife and lots of nature.

Although the country is not quite as cheap as Georgia, it is still cheaper than Western European countries. There are also plenty of cafés, bars and great spots for digital nomads to connect, especially in the cities.

The Best Places to Work Remote in Asia

Asia is a really cool place to work remote, with a completely different culture, beaches, beautiful nature, and mostly very affordable prices compared to Western countries. We’ll introduce you to three great spots for digital nomads.

Bali

  • Which places in particular? Canggu for beach lovers, Ubud for creatives
  • How much does it cost to live in Bali? Bali is about 70 percent cheaper than the US.
  • How do you get a visa? You can choose between the Visa on Arrival for 30 to 60 days or the Tourist Single Entry Visit Visa C1 for 60 to 180 days. You can apply for both online. For the C1 visa, however, you need a Balinese sponsor who will apply for the visa for you.

Bali is one of the best-known places for digital nomads. The island makes it pretty easy too – at least if you’re only planning a short stay. The visa on arrival is super simple, the Balinese are really friendly, living costs are low and it’s warm all year round.

The nature in Bali is also incredibly beautiful. You can sit down in the jungle or on the beach and work. This works especially well in the south and center of Bali, where the internet is the best.

Of course, Bali is also very touristy, but if you’re looking for a spot with lots of other digital nomads, you’ve come to the right place.

Thailand

In Thailand, you can enjoy a great work-life balance, get from A to B easily, have delicious food and an international community.

Our favorite place to work remote in Thailand: Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is located in the north of Thailand, surrounded by green mountains. The city is much more relaxed than Bangkok, but you still have everything you need: fast internet, cool coworking spaces, a huge international community and stylish cafés with plugs at every table.

Another plus point: Chiang Mai is cheap, even for Thailand.
