Our guide to Patagonia

  1. Flair

Wild, rugged, and seriously breathtaking — Patagonia is an absolute dream for hikers and adventurers.

  2. Travel season

November through March (Southern Hemisphere summer) gives you the best conditions. Outside that window, expect harsh weather and many closures.

  3. Travel duration

Plan for at least ten to 14 days — and don't underestimate the distances. Patagonia is enormous.

  4. Price level

On the higher side, especially inside the national parks. Budget accordingly.

  5. Food

Don't leave without trying Cordero al Palo — lamb slow-cooked over an open fire. It's really something special.

  6. Transport

A rental car is the most flexible option. Long-distance buses work too, but they eat up a lot of time.
