Klunkerkranich

What do you need to know? The Klunkerkranich is somewhere between a café, beach bar, garden, club, and observation deck — all rolled into one. You’ll find it on the rooftop of the Neukölln Arkaden shopping center, and the views over Berlin from up there are seriously great.
Is it worth it? 100%! The panorama over the city is one of the most beautiful in all of Berlin, in our opinion. Grabbing a cold beer here at sunset? Simply perfect.
Our tip: Use the side entrance to the Neukölln Arkaden near the Postbank. From there, take the elevator to the top floor and walk up the last flight of stairs yourself.
Tempelhofer Feld

What do you need to know? Tempelhofer Feld is a former airport that’s been transformed into a massive park — with cycling paths, barbecue areas, snack stands, dog meadows, and endless space to chill out. You can also explore the old airport terminal on a guided tour.
Is it worth it? Absolutely! Tempelhofer Feld is one of our all-time favorite spots in Berlin. Nowhere else in the city do you get so much open space and fresh air.
Our tip: Come out on a summer evening and you can actually do some stargazing. Yes, stargazing — right in the middle of Berlin!
Körnerpark

What do you need to know? Körnerpark is a beautiful park that looks more like a palace garden: manicured flower beds, an orangery, and a fountain. Not what you’d typically expect tucked away in Neukölln.
Is it worth it? We stumbled across Körnerpark by chance and are still amazed by how gorgeous it is. Definitely worth a stop.
Our tip: In summer, free concerts are sometimes held on weekends on the orangery terrace — mostly smaller bands, but a really lovely atmosphere. Worth checking out!
Neighborhood Tour of Neukölln

What do you need to know? Neukölln is diverse and huge. If you really want to get under the skin of the neighborhood, joining a guided tour is the smartest move. A local guide will take you to cool spots and share stories you’d never find in a guidebook.
Is it worth it? Definitely! We regularly book neighborhood tours when we’re exploring Berlin, and Neukölln is seriously one of the best neighborhoods for it.
Our favorite tours: The tour In Rixdorf is´ Musike takes you with guide Tobias into the oldest part of Neukölln. Alternatively, book a private neighborhood tour with Reinhold, who’ll walk you through local favorites like the Schillerkiez and the Reuterkiez.
Eating & Drinking in Neukölln

Ban Ban Kitchen
Ban Ban Kitchen is a small street food spot dishing up seriously good Korean food. When we first discovered it, it was still built around a large tree with wooden boards. These days it’s in a proper building — but the food is still absolutely delicious.
Gelateria Mos Eisley
Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you — this ice cream shop serves the best gelato in Berlin. Seriously! Owner Daniela really knows her craft. You can go for wild flavors like Tannenzäpfle beer or apple cake, or stick with the classics. Either way, you won’t be disappointed.
eins44
For something a little more upscale, eins44 is the place. The restaurant is housed in a former distillery, so the industrial décor fits perfectly. The dishes are sometimes truly exceptional — and always delicious.
