In a nutshell
- Louis Hotel: a beautiful boutique hotel with bright, airy rooms right in the heart of the old town. We especially love the view from the rooftop terrace over Viktualienmarkt.
- Rioca Munich Posto 3: want a real vacation vibe right in the middle of Munich? The Brazilian flair here — from the food to the stylish décor — is seriously unlike anything else in the city.
- Parkhotel Rothof: beautifully quiet, right next to a small park, with a great sports center on the doorstep. Wake up to birdsong in your park-view room — it’s the perfect reset after a day of sightseeing.
Louis Hotel

We can’t recommend the Louis Hotel highly enough — we absolutely loved it here. It’s located right in the heart of the historic center, directly on Viktualienmarkt, just a stone’s throw from the top sights in Munich.
From the rooftop terrace, you get a stunning panorama of the city and the market below. The rooms are decorated in light colors with plenty of wood and natural materials — our room even had a window with closable shutters between the bathroom and the bedroom. Pretty cool, right?
The breakfast is simply outstanding. There’s grilled, warm bread and an impressive selection of vegan dishes.

No list of the best boutique hotels in Munich would be complete without the 25hours Hotel. Everything here is just somehow different!
The interior design is especially cool: hunting paintings, chandeliers, and old typewriters blend harmoniously with designer furniture, lots of wood, and a modern lighting concept. And it all feels incredibly stylish.
For exploring the city, you can take a complimentary test drive in a Mini or head out on the chic city bikes Siegfried, Ludwig, Viktor, and Lotte. After a day full of exciting activities in Munich, the sauna with its peaceful terrace overlooking the courtyard is perfect for unwinding.
For arrivals and departures, it’s super convenient that the 25hours sits right at the main train station.
BEYOND by Geisel

You can hardly get more central than this — BEYOND by Geisel is located right in front of Munich’s City Hall on Marienplatz.
BEYOND places special emphasis on exclusivity and personalized service. At the restaurant, you can have your own personal chef prepare any dish you want, around the clock.
One thing to know: children must be at least 13 years old to stay here.
The hotel features a communal living room, a wine room, and a kitchen where you can mingle with other guests. Somehow it feels just like home — and that’s exactly the idea.
Rioca Munich Posto 3

Want to feel like you’re at Copacabana during your stay in Munich? Yes, that’s actually possible — at the Brazilian design hotel Rioca Munich Posto 3!
The motto “Live like in Rio” is truly lived out at this aparthotel. The moment you walk in, the cool music and stunning interior instantly make you feel like you’re on vacation.
The Brazilian flair is visible and palpable everywhere: from breakfast featuring Brazilian treats, to the amazing cocktail bar, to the staff who actually speak Portuguese — though of course not only Portuguese, so don’t worry.
Rioca Munich is located in Obersendling. The nearest subway station is a ten-minute walk away, and from there it’s about 20 minutes to the city center. If you’re arriving by car, you can park in the hotel’s own underground garage.
Maximilian Munich

Right in the middle of Munich yet peacefully surrounded by greenery? Yes, that’s possible — at the boutique and aparthotel Maximilian, tucked between Marienplatz and Maximilianstraße.
The heart of the hotel is the gorgeous rose garden. Beneath a 100-year-old chestnut tree, next to a gently trickling fountain, you can perfectly unwind after your tour through Munich. And on the restaurant’s summer terrace, you can relax and wind down the evening with a view of the greenery.
Or you can cook for yourself — the studios and suites are equipped with their own private kitchen.
On top of that, there’s a small wellness area where you can truly treat yourself.

JAMS Music Hotel

As the name suggests, everything at the JAMS Music Hotel revolves around music — and it does so in super stylish ’70s retro design.
With vinyl on the walls, pictures of rock legends, and a record player in every room, the theme runs throughout the entire hotel.
At the trendy hotel bar, it’s not at all unlikely that you’ll run into designers, artists, and of course musicians.
The JAMS Music Hotel is tucked away in a quiet corner of Au-Haidhausen, by the Maximiliananlage park. To get to the city center, simply cross the Isar and you’ll be downtown in five minutes. Alternatively, a subway station is just a few steps away.

Innspire Hotel

The Innspire design hotel is located a bit outside the city center, toward Nymphenburg Palace in the western part of Munich. A subway and commuter rail station is about 500 meters away, making it easy to reach downtown quickly.
The interior is bright and welcoming. The rooms with cozy lounge corners are a great place to relax, as is the restaurant’s green outdoor terrace.
Particularly clever is the climate ceiling in the rooms. What’s that, you ask? We had to look it up too: in winter, warm water flows through pipes in the ceiling to heat the rooms. In summer, cool water runs through the ceiling surface, absorbing heat.
This creates a pleasant indoor climate without the need for an energy-guzzling air conditioner — we think that’s genuinely cool, just like the hotel’s overall look and feel. The lighting concept in the sauna at the spa is also quite the eye-catcher.
Parkhotel Rothof

Parkhotel Rothof is located in the Bogenhausen neighborhood, just ten minutes by subway from Munich’s city center. At the same time, you’re staying in a wonderfully peaceful and incredibly idyllic setting right next to a small park — perfect if you’re visiting Munich with kids who need space to run around.
Almost all rooms face the park — and honestly, what could be better than waking up to birdsong and a view of the greenery?
Just a two-minute walk through the hotel park brings you to the Rothof Sport fitness center, where hotel guests can drop in for a yoga class or book a tennis court.
The breakfast buffet is also seriously impressive — the enormous variety is truly something else! When the weather cooperates, you can enjoy it out on the garden terrace.

The Roomers Munich is equally stylish and extraordinary. Whether it’s a freestanding bathtub right in front of the bed or a giant fish above the dining table — glamour and hip come together perfectly here.
The spa holds a surprise too. In addition to 600 square meters of sauna, hammam, and wellness facilities, a Jacuzzi with a view of a cinema screen provides the ultimate in luxurious indulgence.
The dining concept is also top-notch. In the RED event room, there’s either a DJ spinning or live music. For a great meal, head to the Japanese restaurant IZAKAYA, which offers a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
The Roomers sits right in Munich’s Westend neighborhood, with a commuter rail and subway station right outside the door. Both the main train station and the Theresienwiese are about a 15-minute walk away.
Platzl Hotel

This long-established traditional hotel enjoys a prime location right in the heart of Munich’s old quarter. From here, you can stroll to key landmarks like Viktualienmarkt or Marienplatz in just a few minutes.
The owning family’s deep connection to Munich is felt throughout the entire property. Naturally, classic Bavarian specialties are served, along with house-brewed beer in the beer garden — almost like being in a Munich brewhouse!
The rooms blend Bavarian design elements with modern technology, and you can unwind in the wellness area with a small sauna, steam bath, and fitness room.
Hotel München Palace

The family-run Hotel München Palace is all about slowing down and finding some peace. A real highlight is the beautifully landscaped inner courtyard, which the restaurant and bar’s conservatory opens onto.
You can also recharge in the exclusive wellness area with its wonderful rooftop terrace, sauna, steam bath, and fitness room.
The hotel sits a bit away from the city bustle, on the quiet eastern bank of the Isar roughly level with the English Garden. A subway station is about a five-minute walk away, giving you quick access to the center.
Boutique Hotel SEITNER HOF

Set in the green southern part of Munich, SEITNER HOF combines historic charm with modern boutique comfort — and it’s just 15 minutes from the city center.
The family-run hotel, with a history spanning over 200 years, offers cozy rooms overlooking greenery, a fireside lounge with a self-service bar, and in summer, breakfast on the lovely terrace.
Something we really love: on weekends, the hotel’s own café serves homemade waffles and tarte flambée. If you want to relax, you can unwind in the small but superb spa or treat yourself to a culinary evening at the historic restaurant “Alte Brennerei.”
Especially great for active travelers: the Isar with its cycling and hiking trails is right outside the door — with a stunning natural backdrop included.
