Hotels at Lake Caldaro with Pool & Direct Lake Access
If you want to stay right on Lake Caldaro, you have three options for hotels — all of which we’d recommend.
Seegarten
The Seegarten sits in Sankt Josef am See — the only small village right on the lake — and has a lovely private swimming beach with lawn areas for sunbathing.
We especially love the terrace overlooking the lake, where you can linger over a relaxed breakfast in the morning sun.
The Seegarten doubles as a great wellness hotel on Lake Caldaro. There’s a lovely spa area with sauna and steam bath, plus an indoor pool — which is seriously handy when the weather isn’t cooperating.
The rooms are decorated in a blue-and-white style that really gets you in the mood for the lake. Every room offers plenty of space and the beds are incredibly comfortable.
Seehotel Ambach
The Seehotel Ambach enjoys a wonderfully peaceful setting tucked between fruit orchards, vineyards, and the lake. The large garden grounds give you plenty of room to lounge around, and you can cool off in the lake or the outdoor pool whenever you feel like it.
If you want to escape the sun, the trees in the garden provide plenty of shade. Feeling more active? You can rent bicycles or stand-up paddleboards right at the hotel.
There’s plenty to enjoy indoors too — like the delicious food at the hotel’s own restaurant. Breakfast is always included in the price, and you can add dinner as an option when booking.
The rooms are really lovely and beautifully appointed — the 1970s-inspired décor is totally cool and playful.
Parc Hotel am See
The Parc Hotel am See sits on the quieter side of the lake and is a wonderful wellness retreat on Lake Caldaro.
In addition to direct lake access with a lawn area, there’s an outdoor saltwater pool and an indoor pool. A lovely wellness area with sauna, steam bath, and massage services rounds out the relaxation program perfectly.
If you really want to unwind, just stay in your room. All rooms are decorated in light tones with stylish pops of color and feel super modern.
Also really convenient: the complimentary shuttle bus to Caldaro. And free parking right at the hotel.
Luxury Hotels at Lake Caldaro
There’s only one true luxury hotel directly on Lake Caldaro — and it’s a seriously special one.
Lake Spa Hotel SEELEITEN
The Lake Spa Hotel Seeleiten isn’t located right on the water, but the hotel has its own private beaches on the lake. One of them even has a Winter Lake Sauna, where you jump from a hot sauna straight into the cold lake — an experience you won’t forget.
There’s also a fantastic outdoor pool with plenty of sunbathing space, and on rainy days you can treat yourself in the fully equipped spa area.
Beyond that, the Lake Spa Hotel Seeleiten delivers everything you’d expect from a top-end property: spacious, elegantly furnished rooms, a delicious breakfast buffet, and excellent service.

Budget Hotels at Lake Caldaro
Hotels on Lake Caldaro with direct lake access tend to be quite pricey. If you’re after a more affordable option, you’re better off booking a place to stay in St. Josef that isn’t right on the water.

Garni Hotel Sonnleitenhof
The Garni Hotel Sonnleitenhof is located in Sankt Josef am See, just about a 10-minute walk from the Lido at Lake Caldaro.
The hotel has a lovely outdoor area with a pool and a fitness room. Free parking is available right at the property, and the nearest bus stop is just a short stroll away.
The rooms are bright, simply and very cozily furnished, and many have a balcony with views over the vineyards. In the morning, a delicious breakfast is waiting for you.

Rösslhof
The Rösslhof sits right next to the Garni Hotel Sonnleitenhof, so the location is equally great. Our personal highlight here is the sun terrace — breakfast with a view of the lake is a pretty perfect way to start the day.
Because the Rösslhof is family-run, the atmosphere and service feel genuinely warm and personal. Sustainability is also a real priority here, which we really appreciate.

Das Wanda
Das Wanda is a small hotel with a pool in South Tyrol, set right among the vineyards of Caldaro. The décor is super modern, cozy, and stylish throughout — and with just 12 rooms, it feels genuinely intimate.
The outdoor area with pool and lounge chairs is perfect for soaking up the sun, and inside there’s a great spa area for when you want to slow things down.

Im Zeitlauf - life with nature
The Im Zeitlauf is one of our favorite boutique hotels in South Tyrol — very small and personal, with hosts and an atmosphere that are simply wonderful.
It’s set in Caldaro on the edge of town, surrounded by vineyards. Because it sits slightly higher up than the lake, you get sweeping views all the way to the water from the terrace with infinity pool — honestly one of the most stunning vistas in the area.
Im Zeitlauf is also an adults-only hotel in South Tyrol, making it the perfect place to truly switch off and enjoy the peace and quiet. Just 9 rooms, all decorated with natural colors and materials.
