    Noticeably quieter than its neighbors — Koh Lanta is seriously one of the best islands in Thailand for actually unwinding.

    November through April means calm seas and reliable sunshine. Outside that window, expect rain and rough water.

    Plan five to seven days — enough time to explore the island itself and take a few day trips into the surrounding archipelago.

    Pleasantly affordable. Budget travelers do really well here, and even mid-range options give you great value for money.
