Tell us a little bit about yourselves and Hotel Paradies. Who are you?

We are the Pirhofer family, and together we run the Hotel Paradies.

The family consists of Annemarie (my mother) and Georg Pirhofer (my father), my sister Marilena and her partner Simon, and me (Patricia) and my partner Andreas. All family members actively work in the hotel in different areas.

For 50 years now, already in its third generation, we’ve been offering our guests a varied and relaxing multi-generational vacation. We want everyone to feel at home here — not just one generation, but all of them!

Where is Hotel Paradies located?

Paradies is located in South Tyrol, in the beautiful Vinschgau valley, about 30 minutes from Merano.

The area shines with beautiful irrigation canal paths, an idyllic mountain village reachable by cable car, and alpine meadows surrounding our village of Latsch. You’ll find the hotel set among apple orchards — the Vinschgau is known above all for its apples, but also for its delicious wine.

Thanks to the pleasant “Vinschger wind,” we enjoy an abundance of sunshine here.

With our adults-only Silence Spa Garden, family spa area, kids’ program, numerous excursion options, and our in-house weekly program featuring bike tours, hikes, and yoga, there’s something for every age — making a family vacation with grandparents, aunts, and friends a truly idyllic experience.

We’re also particularly proud of our cuisine, which our guests have been raving about for decades. None of that would be possible without our exceptional team!

How many rooms does Hotel Paradies have?

We have 60 rooms and suites. That’s the ideal size for us to still maintain personal contact with our guests — something that’s very important to us.

What do the rooms look like and what categories are available?

From cozy double rooms to romantic whirlpool suites and comfortable family rooms, we have it all. Our team is always happy to help you choose the right option over the phone.

When it came to design, it was important to us to use modern and timeless natural materials. The layout of our rooms was developed based on the wishes and needs of our guests. For example, some rooms can be connected via a connecting door, giving families even more space and comfort.

Something we consider especially important are our generous balconies — or should we call them terraces? They let you soak in the surrounding mountain scenery even more, stretched out on a cozy double lounger.

Are children welcome?

Yes, and wholeheartedly!

My sister Marilena and I loved it as kids — joining the Kids Club program, making friends, and splashing around in the water. That’s why the family aspect is so important to us.

With our separate areas, couples can unwind in peace, while families with children can have as much fun as they like without anyone giving them dirty looks.

Since 2023, in addition to our family spa area and outdoor kids’ pool with slide, we’ve also added a baby pool where our youngest guests can take their very first swimming steps.

Are pets welcome?

Small and medium-sized dogs are welcome.

Just let us know at the time of reservation so we can prepare everything for your arrival. Dogs also receive a cozy little bed and food bowls from us, so you can leave yours at home without a second thought. We charge a fee of €25.00 per day for dogs.

Dining at Hotel Paradies

What is there to eat?

Delicious creations from our kitchen team — traditional and Mediterranean cuisine, all included in our Soft All Inclusive package.

The day starts with a delicious breakfast from 7:30 to 11:00 AM featuring a buffet and specialty dishes from our live cooking station.

In the afternoon from 2:00 PM, you can enjoy various pasta dishes, antipasti, fruit, and cake, with beverages such as water, juices, coffee, and tea included.

In the evening, our five-to-seven-course menu served by our team in a relaxed setting promises pure culinary delight. Prepare to be surprised!

What are your prices?

Our prices start at €200.00 per person. Depending on the season and room type, prices go up to €330.00 per person.

There are also great special weeks — for example, our June 2024 anniversary weeks “50 Years of Paradies,” during which you receive a 20% discount, bringing room prices down to as low as €170.00 per person.

Dining and Drinks in the Area

Which restaurants and cafés near the hotel do you recommend and why?

Our top recommendation is the surrounding alpine huts and mountain lodges, which are always happy to welcome you. Here you can enjoy typical South Tyrolean specialties and a rustic alpine atmosphere.

It’s best to combine these visits with a short hike or a bike ride. Of course, many of the alpine huts are also accessible by car.

Beyond that, we recommend the Bierkeller in Latsch or the Speckeggele in Schlanders.

That said, most of our guests take advantage of the Soft All Inclusive package and let our Paradies kitchen team delight their taste buds from morning to evening.

Sights in South Tyrol

Which places near the hotel do you recommend and why?

Our number one pick is the Martell Valley. Still largely undiscovered, guests can enjoy hikes and walks here without the crowds. You can often find yourself completely alone, taking in the natural spectacle at your own pace. The reservoir shimmers in brilliant light blue, and the Plima Gorge hike is a highlight for the whole family.

If you prefer sightseeing, you can visit one of the many castles and fortresses in the Vinschgau valley, or explore the local fish museum in Prad.

Often on the way here, you’ll pass Lake Reschen with its sunken church tower — perhaps familiar from the Netflix series “Curon”? It’s always worth a stop.

Also worth mentioning are the great climbing parks in Alitz and in the Schnals Valley, as well as the Archeoparc — dedicated entirely to Ötzi. There’s so much more we could say, because our valley is seriously brimming with adventure, things to see, and nature.
