In a nutshell

    • We show you the 10 best family hotels in Fuerteventura — personally selected for your vacation with kids on Fuerteventura, all with an excellent price-to-value ratio.
    • The north is perfect for independent traveling families. Our top pick is the Hotel Arena Beach — kitchen included, water slides, and just ten minutes from the beach.
    • In the south you’ll find more classic family-friendly resorts. The ultimate all-inclusive worry-free option is the Occidental Jandía Mar — splash park, all-inclusive board, and separate bedrooms for the kids.

The Most Beautiful Family Hotels in Northern Fuerteventura

Our favorite area for staying overnight on Fuerteventura is the north. It’s considerably quieter here, and large hotel chains are rare.

The north is perfect for your family if you want to do lots of activities on Fuerteventura. It’s also ideal for trying out surfing on Fuerteventura.

Staying at a family hotel is always a great idea when traveling with kids. Here are our top five picks for family hotels in northern Fuerteventura.

Pierre & Vacances Resort

  • Kids’ club: Children’s and youth clubs for ages 4 to 17
  • Travel time from airport: about 40 minutes
  • Bed types for kids: twin beds or sofa bed, crib available on request
  • Meal plan: kitchen, breakfast, or half board
  • Pool: 6 pools, including a children’s pool and water park

Probably the most affordable family hotel on Fuerteventura with slides is the Pierre & Vacances Resort. Depending on when you visit Fuerteventura, you can get an apartment for two kids starting at just 90 euros per night — seriously great value.

The standout feature is the 5,000-square-meter water park. Complete with a wave pool, slides, a climbing wall, and a huge fun zone for kids.

The property offers studios and villas with one or two bedrooms, all with a fully equipped kitchen. You can also add breakfast or half board.

The one downside for many guests is the location — the hotel is essentially in the middle of nowhere. You’ll need a rental car for restaurants, activities, or sightseeing.

Buendía Corralejo Nohotel

  • Kids’ club: childcare for toddlers, no kids’ club
  • Travel time from airport: about 35 minutes
  • Bed types for kids: bunk beds, crib available on request
  • Meal plan: self-catering or breakfast
  • Pool: one heated pool & children’s pool

At first glance, the Buendía Corralejo Nohotel looks like a fairly low-key family-friendly hotel on Fuerteventura. But we can tell you it’s incredibly popular with young families — and for good reason.

The modern, stylish apartments are a big part of the appeal. Most have two bedrooms, which is ideal for families who value privacy and space.

Kids also love the heated pool and the games room with pool table. Meanwhile, parents can unwind with Pilates and yoga classes.

We’d also highly recommend the Buendía for its location. Corralejo is our favorite spot on Fuerteventura — great restaurants, and everything moves at a more relaxed pace.

Shambhala Fuerteventura

  • Travel time from airport: about 25 minutes
  • Bed types for kids: sofa bed, crib available on request
  • Meal plan: self-catering or breakfast
  • Pool: one pool, heated in winter

You’ll stay in a spacious apartment with a large open-plan kitchen and living area — decorated in a modern boho style with natural materials and neutral tones.

The Shambhala isn’t a classic family resort with entertainment programs. It’s more of a retreat for small families, with a lovely pool and thoughtful touches like cribs and children’s menus.

There are also great coworking spaces on-site — making it a fantastic option for digital nomads traveling with family. You will need a car for sightseeing, though.

The Best Hotel for Kids in Fuerteventura's Interior

We’re not the biggest fans of hotels in the island’s interior. But for families in particular, it has one real advantage: you’re very close to the airport.

In Caleta de Fuste, the largest resort town in the interior, we’ve picked out one of the best family hotels on Fuerteventura for you.

Barceló Fuerteventura Mar

  • Kids’ club: kids’ club for ages 4 to 12
  • Travel time from airport: about 10 minutes

For the kids, there’s not only a dedicated shallow children’s pool, but also the Barcy Club — a seriously cool kids’ club with creative workshops and games, inspired by the Happy Minds concept.

For the rest of the family, the hotel runs a varied daily program with mini golf, tennis, ping pong, beach volleyball, and a theater with live shows.

You can recharge in your modern and comfortable rooms or in one of the two large pools. We’d recommend going half board or all-inclusive.

The Most Beautiful Kids' Hotels in Southern Fuerteventura

Southern Fuerteventura is considered especially family-friendly. The resort towns are quiet, the beaches are mostly wide with gentle slopes into the water, and there are plenty of family resorts to choose from.

Here are our top four picks for family hotels in the south of Fuerteventura.

  • Travel time from airport: just over 1 hour
  • Bed types for kids: twin beds, crib available on request

Small, family-run places to stay are rare in the south. But we love them, and luckily we found Hotel La Colina, where the owners welcome you personally.

Hotel La Colina has only four rooms, one of which consists of two interconnected double rooms with a shared bathroom — ideal for small families.

There’s no kids’ club, but families will love the peaceful setting, plenty of privacy, and a heated pool during winter with ocean views.

Every morning you’ll be served a varied breakfast with egg dishes. Great restaurants in Morro Jable and Playa del Matorral beach are just a ten to fifteen minute walk away.
