Coco Hotel
The standout feature of the Coco Hotel is its commitment to sustainability.
In 2019, the small hotel completely reinvented itself and has since been powered by its own solar farm. On top of that, it offsets the carbon footprint of your stay by planting fruit trees in Tanzania and Mexico. Pretty great!
The rooms are lovely and vibrantly decorated. Most of them look out onto a charming, green courtyard — and down there you’ll also find the hotel’s own Café Coco.
Another big plus is the price. Compared to most other boutique hotels in Copenhagen, you can stay here relatively affordably without sacrificing charm.
CPH Living
Not your typical boutique hotel, but one of the most unique places to stay in Copenhagen — at CPH Living, you sleep on a houseboat!
The boat is moored in Copenhagen’s harbor basin right next to the Langebro Bridge, just a few minutes’ walk from the old town.
The view from your room directly onto the water is seriously amazing — you even get a large panoramic window. The rooms themselves aren’t anything extraordinary, but at this place it’s all about the experience. And that is genuinely one of a kind.
Hotel Ottilia
The Hotel Ottilia was once the Carlsberg Brewery. Now the old brewery building has been transformed into one of the most striking boutique hotels in Copenhagen.
The brick building has been beautifully restored. Inside, you’ll find raw concrete walls with indirect lighting and open-plan bathrooms — if that’s not cool industrial style, we don’t know what is. In some rooms you can even lounge on cushions in the panoramic window and gaze up at the night sky.
The hotel sits between the neighborhoods of Frederiksberg, Valby, and Vesterbro — the trendiest areas in the city. From there, Copenhagen’s public transit gets you to the city center in just ten minutes.
Carlton 66 Guldsmeden
The Carlton 66 Guldsmeden has everything a great boutique hotel in Copenhagen needs: beautiful, cozy rooms, a great breakfast café, and a green courtyard.
But what really sets it apart is something you won’t find anywhere else. In the courtyard, there are camper vans where you can spend the night — camping right in the middle of Copenhagen, in total luxury and with all the perks of the hotel. A genuinely cool under-the-radar pick for Copenhagen!
The hotel has around 70 rooms in total, and some even come with a small balcony overlooking the courtyard.
Grand Joanne
The Grand Joanne is beautifully designed throughout. Everything is done in muted, light tones and the warm lighting creates a wonderfully cozy atmosphere.
That same vibe carries over to the rooftop terrace, where you can kick back on comfortable sofas and loungers and wind down at the end of the day.
Location-wise, it’s hard to beat. The hotel sits right next to the main train station — perfect if you’re arriving by rail — and puts you within easy reach of the city center and just steps from Tivoli. Right around the corner is also one of the stops for the hop-on/hop-off bus in Copenhagen.
Babette Guldsmeden
The Babette Guldsmeden in central Copenhagen feels like coming home. It’s a small, intimate hotel with cozy rooms, large windows, and colorful accents.
What you definitely don’t have at home, though, is a rooftop wellness area blending Nordic and Balinese design. The sauna, steam room, and cold-water bath are perfect for truly switching off. And the view from the rooftop terrace directly onto the Frederiks Kirke — one of the most stunning highlights in Copenhagen — is absolutely incredible.
In the courtyard you’ll also find a great seafood restaurant, which is reason enough to linger.
71 Nyhavn Hotel
Honestly, there’s no better location in Copenhagen than the Nyhavn. That makes the 71 Nyhavn Hotel one of the most special boutique hotels in Copenhagen — and the harbor views are, of course, included.
The hotel took two old warehouses on the Nyhavn, completely renovated them, and transformed them into a truly beautiful place to stay. The rooms still feature the original wooden beams — gorgeous — and are decorated in a Scandinavian-elegant style.
Also worth mentioning is the hotel’s own restaurant, Il Rosmarino, which serves seriously good Italian cuisine.
