Our Recommendation: Take the Metro into the City
Copenhagen Airport is excellently connected to public transportation.
With Metro Line 2, you can reach Kongens Nytorv station right in the heart of Copenhagen’s city center in just 14 minutes.
If your accommodation in Copenhagen is close to the city center, you can usually walk straight to your hotel from there. Alternatively, you can transfer to all other metro lines at Kongens Nytorv.
For the ride from the airport into the city, you’ll need a 3-zone ticket. It costs 30 kroner (approx. 4 euros) and is valid for 90 minutes. You can buy tickets from machines right at the station.
If you have a Copenhagen Card, you can use the metro without an additional ticket and even get free entry to many Copenhagen attractions and join some great tours of Copenhagen.

By Taxi from Copenhagen Airport into the City
The taxi stand is located directly in front of Terminal 3 and is clearly signposted.
A taxi into the city costs between 250 and 400 kroner (approx. 35 to 55 euros) depending on your destination and takes about 20 minutes.
Private Transfer from Copenhagen Airport
If you’d rather not worry about a thing, you can book a private transfer from Copenhagen Airport to the city center.
A driver will be waiting for you right after baggage claim with a sign and will take you directly to your hotel. You can also book an airport transfer in the other direction — from your hotel back to the airport.
This is the most expensive option and starts at 100 euros depending on group size.

Transfer from Copenhagen Airport to Sweden
Direct trains also run from Copenhagen Airport toward Sweden. Malmö is just a 20-minute ride away.
There are also direct train connections to Gothenburg (approx. 3.5 hours) and, with one transfer, to Stockholm (approx. 5.5 hours).

The metro runs around the clock. At night, though, it operates less frequently — roughly every 20 minutes.
Can I buy metro tickets online in advance?
You can’t buy tickets for the transfer online in advance — but buying them at the machine is pretty straightforward.

Is there a hotel directly at Copenhagen Airport?
