Maison Valentina
Our favorite boutique hotel in Merano is the Maison Valentina. It’s right on Merano’s Laubengasse — smack in the heart of the historic center — and the value for money is fantastic.
The rooms are beautifully modern, with every design detail and color perfectly coordinated. The host is incredibly warm and happy to help with anything you need.
We especially love that this place works for everyone: couples, families traveling with kids, or guests with a dog.

Kuntino Suites
The Kuntino Suites aren’t a classic boutique hotel, but they’re still one of our top picks for staying in Merano.
This small property offers several apartments, all superbly equipped. The Kuntino Suites are especially great if you’re planning a vacation with kids — every studio has a kitchen and plenty of space to spread out.
At the same time, you still get many of the perks of a hotel: beautiful interiors and incredibly friendly, helpful hosts — the Kuntino Suites are family-run, and it really shows.
The property also includes a lovely café for breakfast and even a shoe store on-site.
Villa Helvetia
The Villa Helvetia isn’t right in the city center, but it sits in a prime spot between the old quarter and Trauttmansdorf Castle — and it’s wonderfully peaceful here.
The building once served as a summer residence for a countess in the 19th century; today it’s a freshly renovated hotel with very modern, comfortably furnished rooms and excellent personal service.
Two great extras: the whirlpool and the outdoor sauna — perfect for unwinding after a hiking day in South Tyrol.
The breakfast is excellent too, and there are always small snacks available throughout the day.
Boutique Hotel Imperialart
For something truly luxurious, the Boutique Hotel Imperialart is hard to beat. It’s in a fantastic location in the old town, between the Laubengasse, the Passer River, and the Merano Thermal Baths.
Every room is individually decorated — each one inspired by artists from the region. Many rooms have great extras like a beautiful balcony or a freestanding bathtub, and some even come with their own whirlpool.
The entire hotel team is super friendly and full of great local recommendations. Breakfast is included, and there’s a charming café right downstairs.
