DOMS Boutique Living
The DOMS is a modern, family-run boutique hotel in Mellieħa in the north of Malta. The area is one of the most beautiful places in Malta.
The hotel has eight simple but cozy rooms with an inviting atmosphere. Each room is designed to reflect a different side of Mellieħa — we think that’s a really interesting concept.
At the DOMS, you’re staying right next to the Parish Church of the Nativity of Mary. From the outdoor pool, you get a stunning view of the cathedral and the sea beyond.
Alongside the pool, the boutique hotel has its own bar and restaurant. A daily breakfast can be added as an optional extra — à la carte, continental, or English/Irish.
The DOMS also offers free cribs and an airport shuttle on request.
Cesca's Boutique Hotel
Cesca’s is an authentic, Mediterranean boutique hotel on Gozo, Malta’s neighboring island — one of the most peaceful and unspoiled corners of the archipelago. It’s also home to two of our favorite Malta insider tips.
The building alone makes it truly special. The hotel is housed in a 350-year-old Maltese farmhouse.
Inside, you’ll find a blend of Mediterranean warmth and classic, refined style. It honestly doesn’t get much more boutique than this.
With just 18 rooms, Cesca’s has a pleasantly quiet feel, and you get to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer. That includes an outdoor pool and a terrace with breathtaking views over Gozo’s valleys, a hotel bar, and the La Vallée restaurant serving daily breakfast.
Parking for rental cars is available at and near the hotel.
The Stonehouse
The Stonehouse is a beautifully restored building in the heart of San Ġiljan, on the east coast of Malta.
You’re staying on a quiet side street, yet the top attractions and cool things to do in Malta are all easily within reach.
The hotel has five individually styled rooms — some with a balcony — in a Mediterranean, almost Oriental style. There’s also a really charming outdoor area with a small garden and pool.
A daily breakfast buffet with continental and vegetarian options can be added on. The Stonehouse also offers an airport shuttle service.
Casa Ellul
Casa Ellul is a small boutique hotel in Malta’s capital, Valletta. It sits near St. Elmo Bay, right on the Mediterranean — a perfect base for exploring Valletta and hopping on a quick ferry to Sliema.
Casa Ellul has 9 spacious rooms and suites with gorgeous terraces, stunning views over the historic center, and private hot tubs. The décor pulls off a beautiful mix of modern and elegant.
That refined vibe carries through the entire hotel, right into the bar and the breakfast area, where a breakfast buffet is served every morning.
SU29 Boutique Hotel
Our next pick among the boutique hotels in Malta is a real showstopper. The SU29 in Valletta pulls off a genuinely cool combination of old and new.
The building blends historic sections with newly added ones — and that same concept runs through the interior and all 8 rooms, spread across six floors.
Expect spacious rooms — some with harbor views — individual décor, and a surprisingly harmonious mix of classic, modern, and industrial with a Mediterranean touch. Seriously impressive.
And even though the hotel is designed for just a small number of guests, a lavish breakfast is served every single day. We loved that.
The location near the Upper Barrakka Gardens and the waterfront is also seriously beautiful — perfect for exploring Valletta on foot, spending days by the sea, and discovering more highlights in Malta.
Iniala Harbour House
Looking for a truly luxurious boutique hotel in Malta? Then we absolutely recommend the Iniala Harbour House — a stunning place to stay in Valletta, right on the harbor.
This 5-star design hotel consists of 17 rooms spread across 4 renovated, historic townhouses.
Every room is individually decorated with incredible attention to detail. Maltese balconies, panoramic windows, private pools, and postcard-worthy views are just a few of the many highlights at Iniala Harbour House.
As you’d expect, the hotel also has its own spa, a fitness center, and both an indoor and an outdoor pool. But that’s still not all — the Iniala even has its own Michelin-starred restaurant. Wow.
