The hotel is thoroughly modern, yet Georgian original features are woven throughout the property — all authentic to the Leighton House itself.
These antique pieces look seriously elegant alongside the many contemporary artworks on display. It’s a strikingly beautiful combination.
Leighton House moves with the times without forgetting its roots — an extremely well-executed concept, and a perfect fit for a city like Bath.

The Yard in Bath is a small boutique hotel in the city center with a genuinely cool backstory. The building was once a coaching inn — a rest stop for travelers and horses — which gives it a history that most hotels in Bath simply can’t match.
The building has been beautifully restored, but the historic courtyard has been preserved and is still the heart of the place.
We really love that the rooms feature individual pieces from local designers — super authentic. And okay, we’ll admit it: Netflix and a Nespresso machine in the room are pretty great perks too.
The Queensberry Hotel
The family-run Queensberry Hotel occupies a beautiful Georgian terrace in the center of Bath. The 8th Marquess of Queensberry once lived here — hence the name.
There’s definitely a regal energy running through the whole place, but it’s pulled off in a thoroughly modern, shabby-chic way that feels fresh rather than stuffy. We especially love the colorful wallpapers that bring such a cheerful energy to the rooms.
And since we can never resist good food: the hotel restaurant, The Olive Tree, is actually the only Michelin-starred restaurant in all of Bath. That alone makes this place worth considering.

The Bathen House is a 4-star boutique hotel in the northwest of Bath. This converted Edwardian townhouse delivers the full Jane Austen experience — and then some.
Expect a mix of suites and rooms with chic, almost over-the-top decor that somehow feels incredibly stylish thanks to a beautifully restrained color palette.
