The catamaran tour to Lobos Island is our favorite boat trip in northern Fuerteventura — we’ve even done it with the entire 22places team, and it was an absolutely awesome experience.
The destination is beautiful Lobos Island, just off the coast of our favorite town, Corralejo. It’s a lovely, uninhabited island with a dormant volcano and idyllic beaches.
On Lobos you’ll have about two hours to explore — one of the guides even comes ashore and shows you around. The other two hours you spend cruising or in the water.
That’s because the tour also gives you time for snorkeling or stand-up paddleboarding — so fun! Delicious paella and drinks are included too. We seriously can’t recommend this one enough.

You’ll cruise on a glass-bottom boat all the way around Lobos Island. Through the 16 panoramic windows you can watch fish and other sea creatures below.
There’s a stop out on the water where you can swim and snorkel — and you can also briefly step ashore on Lobos.
This is also a really great option if you’re visiting Fuerteventura with young kids. The little ones definitely won’t get bored during that hour — trust us.

Boat Tour with Dolphin and Whale Watching

A whale and dolphin watching tour is pretty much a must on the Canary Islands. If you’re based in northern Fuerteventura, this boat trip is the one to book.
After pickup from your hotel in Corralejo, the safari gets underway. With a little luck you’ll spot whales, dolphins, pilot whales, or sea turtles.
Afterward you’ll sail to Playa La Concha, one of the most beautiful beaches on Fuerteventura — perfect for snorkeling, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding.
Of course you can also just stay on board and soak up the sun. After the break, a delicious seafood paella is served on deck.

One of the most spectacular sights on Fuerteventura is Pozo Negro — a black beach made up of dark lava rocks and volcanic rubble.
You get a truly stunning view of this little bay from a sailing catamaran departing from Caleta de Fuste, complete with comfortable seating and sunbathing areas.
It’s the perfect place to really switch off, and with a little luck you might spot dolphins or whales along the way — though wildlife watching isn’t the main focus here.
At a stop along the route you’ll have time to swim and snorkel in crystal-clear water. Lunch is paella, fresh fruit, and a tasty dessert.

For an action-packed boat tour in Fuerteventura, the classic dolphin and whale watching trip in the south is hard to beat — especially on a speedboat.
We’ve done this one ourselves and absolutely loved it — maybe partly because we spotted baby dolphins, which was completely adorable!
The speedboat ride also includes a short snorkeling stop, plus pickup from your place in the south — whether that’s your beachfront hotel on Fuerteventura or elsewhere.
Since the tour only lasts about two hours, it’s also a great fallback if you’ve already been on a boat excursion but didn’t get to see any dolphins.

Boat Tour on a Sailboat with Snorkeling

For a more relaxed boat trip in the south, the sailing excursion is our pick — we’ve done this one too and honestly loved every minute of it.
There’s plenty of time for swimming and snorkeling. We even swam with manta rays, which was a real standout moment.
The vibe on the sailboat is super laid-back and friendly, and the skippers always manage to get a laugh out of the group.
You’ll also enjoy delicious tapas and drinks during the tour. There’s a chance of spotting dolphins too, though we weren’t lucky on that front.

Glass-Bottom Boat Tour with Lunch

After hotel pickup, you can settle in on the sun deck or grab a spot in front of one of the panoramic windows below.
With a bit of luck you might spot whales and dolphins, but you’re guaranteed to see plenty of colorful fish and other sea creatures through the glass bottom.
There’s a snorkeling and swimming stop too — plus kayaks and a slide for the kids. Afterward, a tasty paella is served for lunch.
