A Portrait of the 5-Star Boutique Hotel Louisa's Place in Berlin
Tell us a little about yourselves and the Boutique Hotel Louisa's Place. Who are you?
My name is Sven Schimank, and I am the managing owner of the Boutique Hotel Louisa’s Place in Berlin.
Our landmark-protected building has been standing since 1904 and was completely renovated in 2003 for the opening of our hotel. For over 20 years, my team and I have had the pleasure of welcoming guests from all over the world.

Where is the Boutique Hotel Louisa's Place located?
Our independent 5-star property sits right on the legendary Kurfürstendamm in Charlottenburg.
It’s the perfect blend of proximity to the city center — with its highlights and cultural attractions — and the peace and quiet you’ll want after a long day exploring the capital.
What makes the Boutique Hotel Louisa's Place special?
We’re a true standout in the heart of Berlin — and we think you’ll feel that the moment you walk in.
Beyond the charm and character of our historic city palace, the hotel features a cozy library and a beautiful courtyard — connected to the garden room, which works beautifully for our breakfast buffet or private business meetings.
There’s also an exclusive wellness area with a pool, sauna, steam bath, and fitness room, a hair salon, a popular restaurant, and the beloved Vesper Bar.
Why the name Louisa's Place?
After the building was acquired in the early 2000s, the team still needed a concept — and a name that meant something.
To give this envisioned feel-good destination an exclusive, personal, and warm identity, the connection to Queen Louise of Prussia felt like a natural fit. She was known as the Queen of Hearts and impressed even the greatest politicians of her era — Napoleon and Tsar Alexander I — with her exceptional charm, hospitality, courage, and diplomatic skill, while remaining genuinely down-to-earth with people from all walks of life.
Rooms and Amenities of the Hotel
How many rooms does the Boutique Hotel Louisa's Place have?
There are 47 rooms and suites ranging in size from 45 m² for the Superior Room to 117 m² for the Louisa’s Suite. Think of it as the comfort and space of a vacation apartment combined with the service and excellence of a luxury hotel.
Each room is genuinely unique — every one has its own character. Every suite features a fully equipped kitchen and a bedroom that’s almost always separate from the living area. With ceiling heights of 3.40 m (except on the top floor), you can really breathe easy right in the middle of the city.
What do the rooms look like, and what categories are available?
There are six different suite categories that can be tailored based on the number of guests, requirements, and preferences. The Louisa’s Suite, for example, accommodates up to six people.
Most rooms also have a balcony or sunroom overlooking the Ku’Damm or the idyllic garden area.
The interior design was created by award-winning designer Etchika Werner, who skillfully combined elegant wallpapers, artistic wall paintings, high-quality fabrics, stucco pilasters, solid wood furniture, and carefully chosen works of art.
Can I live at Louisa's Place long-term?
Absolutely. The suites have everything you need for an extended stay. Book at least 15 nights and you’ll already benefit from reduced daily rates — and for stays of 30 nights or more, even further discounts are available.
Feel free to reach out for a tailored offer. We’d love for you to find your favorite corner of Berlin right here at Louisa’s Place!
Are children welcome?
Children are more than welcome at Louisa’s Place — we genuinely love having families stay with us, and there are some great perks to go along with it.
For starters, the hotel has family rooms that — combined with sofa beds and baby or extra beds — are perfect for a vacation with up to five people. At up to 70 m², there’s generous space for everyone to spread out and feel at home. A separate living area with a dining table or breakfast bar and kitchenette gives you far more flexibility than a standard hotel room ever could.
With daily children’s pool times, the youngest guests get plenty of water fun — room to splash around to their hearts’ content. And that’s just a small preview, because there are more surprises waiting for families to discover at the hotel 😉.

Are pets welcome too?
Your pet is considered part of the travel family here. Dogs are typically welcome, but don’t hesitate to ask about other animal companions as well.
During your stay, four-legged guests get individual attention too — the team is happy to set up the room with a food and water bowl (including a mat).
The staff loves animals and will gladly point you toward the best walks in the neighborhood for you and your dog.
Dining at the Boutique Hotel Louisa’s Place
What is there to eat?
Only good things, of course!
Start your morning right with our breakfast — surrounded by the aromas of freshly ground coffee and toasted bread, find a cozy spot in the garden room or courtyard and choose from our in-house breakfast offerings.
In the evening, our restaurant “Bocca di Lupo” serves up delicious authentic Italian cuisine, and the “Vesper Bar” is the perfect spot for a cocktail or digestif to round out your day in Berlin.

In general, guests who book directly — for example via the Louisa’s Place website — will always get the best individual deal.

Raoul has been working passionately in this field for over 20 years. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and rested — and for us, that’s an essential part of a truly great stay.
Food and Drink in the Surrounding Area
Which restaurants and cafés near the hotel would you recommend, and why?
The Kurfürstendamm is never short of great places to eat and drink! Beyond our own restaurant with Italian-Mediterranean cuisine, we’d point you toward these nearby restaurants.
There’s something for every taste and time of day in the neighborhood — and the team is always happy to chat through options in person or in advance.
