Mount Tibidabo is one of the best places to visit in Barcelona. There’s so much to discover and experience here:
Tibidabo Amusement Park

Imagine riding a roller coaster – with a view of all of Barcelona. Sounds cool? Perfect, because that’s exactly what you’ll experience at the Tibidabo Amusement Park.
It’s the only amusement park in Europe located on a mountain – and it’s also one of the oldest. Its vintage style gives it a very special charm!
The park has two areas. The Panoramic Area with older attractions such as a ferris wheel and a flight simulator from the 1920s is free to access. For the rides, you can buy single tickets (3 euros) on-site or a day pass (19 euros incl. funicular), which can also be booked online.
There is also a free viewing platform in this area with a great view over Barcelona.
The area with the bigger rides (roller coaster, freefall tower, etc.) is only accessible with a ticket (35 euros). This also includes the attractions in the Panoramic Area and the Cuca de Llum funicular.

Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor

At the summit of Tibidabo, above the amusement park, stands the neo-Gothic church Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor. With its striking towers and the Christ statue on the roof, it immediately catches the eye.
The church was inspired by the Sacré-Coeur basilica in Paris – you can definitely see the resemblance, can’t you?
Entry to the church is free, as is the viewing terrace above the crypt. On clear days, you have a fantastic view all the way to the Costa Brava, and on the other side, you can see the Pyrenees.
For 5 euros, you can take the elevator to the platform below the Christ statue. The view here is even more spectacular!
Torre de Collserola

The Torre de Collserola takes you even higher – at 288 meters, it’s the tallest building in Barcelona.
Built for the 1992 Olympic Games, the tower is a real eye-catcher.
For around 6 euros, you can take the elevator to the observation deck at 115 meters. You can get your ticket on the official website.
Once at the top, you’ll get an incredible 360-degree view of Barcelona, the sea, and the mountains. You can even see the mountain landscape of Montserrat, one of the best day trips from Barcelona.
Fabra Observatory

And the superlatives continue: Tibidabo is home to one of the oldest active observatories in the world! The Fabra Observatory first opened its doors in 1904 – and to this day, it’s a fascinating place for anyone interested in comets, asteroids and stars.
You can join a guided tour during the day or in the evening to dive into the history of astronomy. Along the way, you’ll learn about the discoveries made here and get a close-up view of the night sky through a centuries-old telescope.
There are just two small things to keep in mind: Tours are only available in Spanish and they take place on weekends and public holidays only. You can find more details on the official website.
In addition to the guided tours, the observatory also offers something truly unique: dinner under the stars. Sounds pretty romantic, right? More information and reservations are available here.
CosmoCaixa

At the foot of Tibidabo, you’ll find the CosmoCaixa science museum – one of the most exciting museums in Barcelona.
Its interactive exhibitions and hands-on stations let you explore the world of physics, biology, and astronomy in a whole new way, and they’re great fun for both kids and adults.
A definite must-see is the ‘Bosc Inundat‘ (flooded forest): a recreated rainforest with real plants and animals that makes you feel like you’re standing in the middle of the Amazon. The planetarium under the huge dome is another highlight.
The best part? Admission is a great deal at just 8 euros, and kids under 16 even get in for free. You can easily buy your ticket on-site.

Alternatively, you can use the Tibibus shuttle with a ticket for the amusement park, which also goes to the valley station.
Note: Due to maintenance, Tramvia Blau is currently out of service.
The Funicular del Tibidabo is not part of Barcelona’s public transport system, so you need to buy a separate ticket. A round-trip ticket costs 12 euros. However, the funicular is already included in the ticket for the Tibidabo Amusement Park.
