In a nutshell
- Finding great family hotels in Bali isn’t as easy as it sounds — so we’ve done the research for you and picked out seven standout villas and hotels for families, sorted by price.
- All of our picks have spacious rooms, pools, and good restaurants nearby. Many also have kids clubs, playrooms, and water slides.
- Our top picks are the Villa Ettolu in Uluwatu and the Bali Dynasty Resort in Kuta.
Villa D'Carik Bali
- Travel time from airport: about 1.75 hours
- Bed types for children: double beds
- Pool: one pool with a children’s pool
The Villa D’Carik Bali is located in Ubud, right in the heart of Bali. That means, unfortunately, there’s no beach. However, this family hotel is a fantastic base for day trips to Bali’s waterfalls, temples, and the rice terraces on Bali.
The hotel has a total of seven bungalows. Half of them have just one bedroom and the other half have two bedrooms with double beds — perfect for a trip with kids.
The parking lot is about 400 meters from the hotel. But you can arrange to be picked up — you and your luggage get driven right to the door by buggy.
Blue Harbor Beachfront Villas & Resto
- Travel time from airport: about 2.5 hours including boat ride
- Bed types for children: double beds and single beds
- Pool: one pool
The Blue Harbor Beachfront Villas & Resto sits on Nusa Penida right on the beach — you’ll fall asleep every night to the sound of the waves. Nusa Penida lies east of Bali, and the boat ride over takes about 30 minutes.
For families, there are dedicated family bungalows with a connecting door — seriously great for older kids who want their own space. With younger children, just keep a close eye on them at the beach: there are some old seaweed farms in the water that could be hazardous.
The hotel has its own restaurant, and several more are within walking distance. Breakfast comes with a menu that includes kid-friendly options.

Yume Villas
- Travel time from airport: 1 hour
- Bed types for children: single bed or double bed
- Pool: private pool
The Yume Villas aren’t your typical family resort on Bali — but among the three villas available, two are perfect for families. One has two double beds and the other has a double bed plus a single bed.
The villas are super modern in design and all come with a private pool. There’s even a small kitchenette, so you can whip up some pasta for the kids during your Bali trip without always having to head out to a restaurant.
The beach is about a 10-minute walk away — just keep in mind that the hotel is near Uluwatu, which has a cliffy coastline, so there are quite a few steps involved.
Bali Dynasty Resort
- Travel time from airport: 10 minutes
- Bed types for children: single beds, bunk beds, and sofa beds
- Pool: three pools, children’s pool with water slides
The Bali Dynasty Resort is honestly a paradise for kids. There’s a children’s pool with two water slides and a water playground, a games room, a kids club, movie nights, cooking classes for the little ones — and so much more.
The program is geared especially toward younger children. The kids club is open up to age 14, and the water slides are right in the children’s pool area.
The Bali Dynasty Resort is one of our top hotel picks in Bali for families. It’s situated right on the beach — though the beach itself isn’t the prettiest, with sharp coral pieces in the sand. That said, Kuta Beach is only about a 15–20-minute walk away, and it’s one of our favorite beaches on Bali.
Villa Ettolu
- Travel time from airport: 1 hour
- Bed types for children: sofa bed
- Pool: private pool
The Villa Ettolu is also near Uluwatu, just like the Yume Villas above. The beach is again about 10–15 minutes away with plenty of steps to navigate — but if you’d rather stay put, you have a private pool right at the villa.
The restaurants in the area are much closer than the beach — most are no more than a 5-minute walk away.
For the kids, there’s a comfortable sofa bed in the villa, plus a small kitchenette for those times you want to cook something simple.
Apartment Nusa Dua
- Travel time from airport: 30 minutes
- Bed types for children: single beds, double beds, and sofa beds
- Pool: large pool area with children’s pool, water toys
The standout feature of the Apartment Nusa Dua is the massive pool area with a children’s pool. You can even borrow water toys from the hotel for the little ones — someone really thought of everything here.
The apartment is part of the Novotel hotel complex — this is definitely no small boutique hotel on Bali. That makes it even better that you get your own private apartment while still enjoying all the hotel amenities: pool, playground, kids club, and a free shuttle to the beach that takes just one to two minutes. All solid reasons why this place ranks among Bali’s best accommodations for us.
The beach itself is genuinely beautiful and perfect for kids. Thanks to the coral reef off the east coast of the Bukit Peninsula, the waves are very gentle — which is one of the reasons we highlight the east coast in our where-to-stay guide for Uluwatu, especially for families.
The apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen — plenty of space for the whole family.
Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort
- Travel time from airport: 30 minutes
- Bed types for children: sofa beds and double beds
- Pool: four pools, children’s pool
The Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort is a fairly large family hotel on Bali, set on the east coast of the Bukit Peninsula.
The hotel has a really cool, colorful design and lots of little extras that families will love. Think waffles and pancakes at breakfast and water toys built right into the children’s pool — the kind of details that make a real difference with kids in tow.
There’s also a kids club, and if your children are old enough, you can rent bikes at the hotel and explore the surrounding area. The terrain is mostly flat, so it’s totally doable for kids. By bike, you can reach the beach in about 10–15 minutes.
