- Each place has spacious rooms, pools, and great restaurants close by. Many also offer kids’ clubs, play areas, or even waterslides.
- Our top pick is Villa Ettolu in Uluwatu. Kids get a comfy sofa bed, you get your own pool and kitchenette – and the beach is just a short walk away.
Villa D'Carik Bali

- Travel time from the airport: about 1.75 hours
- Bed types for children: double beds
- Pool: one pool with a children’s section
Villa D’Carik Bali is a cute hotel in Ubud, right in the heart of Bali. While it’s not by the beach, it’s one of the best family hotels in Bali if you’re looking to explore. It’s a great base for trips to Bali’s waterfalls, temples and scenic rice terraces or other great things to do in Bali.
The hotel has just seven bungalows. Half have one bedroom, while the other half offer two bedrooms with double beds -ideal for a family vacation in Bali.
The parking area is about 400 meters away, but you can easily arrange a pickup. The hotel will send a buggy to bring you and your luggage to the property.
Blue Harbor Beachfront Villas & Resto

- Travel time from the airport: approx. 2.5 hours incl. boat trip
- Bed types for children: double beds and single beds
- Pool: one pool
The Blue Harbor Beachfront Villas & Resto sits right on the beach in Nusa Penida. Each night, you’ll fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The island lies just off Bali’s eastern coast, and it takes around 30 minutes by boat to reach.
This is one of the best hotels in Bali for families, with family bungalows that have connecting doors – ideal for older kids who like a bit of independence. For smaller children, just be aware that there are a few old seaweed farms in the water, so a little caution is needed.
The hotel has its own restaurant, plus several others nearby within walking distance. Breakfast is served à la carte with a kid-friendly menu.

Yume Villas

- Travel time from the airport: 1 hour
- Bed types for children: single bed or double bed
- Pool: private pool
The Yume Villas aren’t your typical family hotels in Bali. But out of the three villas available, two are a great fit for families. One comes with two double beds, while the other has a double bed plus a single.
These villas are modern and stylish, and each has its own private pool. You’ll also find a small kitchenette, which is super handy if you want to prepare a quick meal for the kids during your Bali vacation instead of heading out to eat every night.
The beach is around 10 minutes away. Just keep in mind that the villas are near Uluwatu, where the coastline is quite steep. So there are a few stairs to climb.
Bali Dynasty Resort

- Travel time from the airport: 10 minutes
- Bed types for children: single beds, bunk beds and sofa beds
- Pool: three pools, children’s pool with water slides
The Bali Dynasty Resort is a top choice when it comes to hotels in Bali for family trips. It’s packed with fun features for kids, including a children’s pool with two water slides, a splash playground, indoor playroom, kids’ club, movie nights, and even cooking classes.
Most of the activities are geared toward younger children, although the kids’ club welcomes kids up to age 14. The water slide is also located safely within the kids’ pool area.
The hotel is right on the beach, but keep in mind the sand can be rough due to bits of coral. However, Kuta Beach – one of our favorite beaches in Bali – is just a 15-20 minute walk away.
Villa Ettolu

- Travel time from the airport: 1 hour
- Bed types for children: sofa bed
- Pool: private pool
Villa Ettolu is located close to Uluwatu, just like the Yume Villas we mentioned above. It’s around a 10 to 15-minute walk to the beach, but the path involves quite a few stairs. If you’d rather stay in, the villa has a private pool.
There are also plenty of restaurants nearby. Most are just a short 5-minute walk away.
Inside, there’s a spacious sofa bed for the kids and a handy kitchenette if you’d like to whip up a simple meal. It’s a laid-back, quiet option among the family-friendly Bali hotels.
Apartment Nusa Dua

- Travel time from the airport: 30 minutes
- Bed types for children: single beds, double beds and sofa beds
- Pool: large pool area with children’s pool and water toys
The biggest highlight at Apartment Nusa Dua is the amazing pool area with a dedicated kids’ pool. You can even borrow water toys for your little ones. It’s clear that families were kept in mind here.
The apartment is located within the Novotel complex. It’s definitely not a small boutique hotel in Bali, but the best part is that you have your own private apartment and still get to enjoy all the hotel perks like the big pool, playground, kids’ club and a free beach shuttle. It only takes 1-2 minutes to get to the private beach. No wonder it’s one of the best hotels in Bali for families.
The beach is lovely and ideal for children. Thanks to the coral reef just offshore, the waves stay nice and shallow. That’s also a big reason why we often recommend the east coast to families for hotels in Uluwatu.
Inside the apartment, you’ve got two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area, and a full kitchen. So there’s plenty of space for the whole family to relax.
Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort

- Travel time from the airport: 30 minutes
- Bed types for children: sofa beds and double beds
- Pool: four pools, children’s pool
The Renaissance Bali Nusa Dua Resort is one of the more spacious family hotels in Bali, located on the east coast of the Bukit Peninsula.
The vibe here is fun, colorful, and full of thoughtful touches for families. Breakfast includes pancakes and waffles, and the kids’ pool has built-in water toys that are always a hit.
Naturally, there’s also a kids’ club. And if your kids are a bit older, you can rent bikes from the hotel to explore the area together. The surroundings are mostly flat and perfect for a relaxed family ride. You can reach the beach by bike in about 10-15 minutes.

FAQs about Family Hotels in Bali
Which area of Bali is best for families?
The best area in Bali for families depends a bit on what kind of trip you’re planning. These are our two top picks:
Nusa Dua is ideal for families with little kids. The beaches are clean, the water is calm and shallow. It’s perfect for splashing around and relaxing.
If you’re traveling with school-age kids, Ubud is a great option. You won’t find a beach here, but you’re right in the jungle-y heart of Bali, full of waterfalls, rice terraces, and temples. Plus, Ubud is also a great place to stay for your Bali itinerary.
Where to avoid staying in Bali for families?
We recommend avoiding areas like Kuta and Canggu.
Kuta is far too loud and chaotic for a family trip and Canggu is trendy and fun for teens, but not super family-oriented or stroller-friendly.
How many days in Bali is enough for families?
For a family trip to Bali, 7 to 10 days is usually just right. This gives you enough time to relax, explore different areas like the beaches in Nusa Dua and the cultural spots around Ubud, and enjoy kid-friendly activities without feeling rushed.
If your family loves a slower pace or you want to include some downtime by the pool or beach, closer to 10 days is ideal.
