In a nutshell
- The Explorer Pass is one of four Amsterdam city passes. You can use the pass for two to seven attractions. Depending on the number of attractions, the pass will cost you between 69 and 149 euros.
- You can buy the Amsterdam Explorer Pass online and then have it with you digitally on your smartphone.
- In most cases, the Amsterdam Explorer Pass is only financially worthwhile if you choose very expensive attractions.
- For most travelers, the I Amsterdam City Card or the Amsterdam All-Inclusive Pass is a better choice.
Is the Amsterdam Explorer Pass Worth it?
The Amsterdam Explorer Pass from Go City is one of three city passes in Amsterdam. In our comparison of Amsterdam passes, the Explorer Pass is by far the worst with 45 out of 100 points. Nevertheless, there are some constellations in which the Explorer Pass can be the best choice.
You don’t buy the Amsterdam Explorer Pass for a specific number of days. Instead, you choose how many attractions you want to visit with the pass and can choose between 3 and 7 attractions. Once you have visited the first attraction, you have 60 days to visit the others. This makes the pass very flexible
However, it is only worthwhile financially in very few cases, e.g. if you want to use it to book one of the expensive day trips from Amsterdam or only attractions that cost well over 22 euros without a pass.
If this is the case for you, the Amsterdam Explorer Pass may be a good choice for you. In most other cases, however, the I Amsterdam City Card or the Amsterdam All-Inclusive Pass is the better choice.
