Ruby Emma
The Ruby Emma is our price-performance winner among the boutique hotels in Amsterdam.
The location southeast of the city center is pleasantly quiet without being cut off from the action. You can be in the city center in 15 minutes by metro.
In addition to the location and the prices, we are also totally convinced by the overall concept. The Ruby Emma is a green hotel.
This means that the entire hotel runs on renewable energy and the 6 individual rooms in the hotel are furnished with second-hand furniture. Even the decoration here is natural or recycled. For example, former fishing nets that have been woven into carpets. How cool is that?
In addition to all the sustainability, you can also expect a really good, regional breakfast, an energetic bar with live music and the hotel’s own bike rental service.
The Hendrick's
The Hendrick’s is the perfect boutique hotel if it’s your first time in Amsterdam – it is located in the middle of Central Amsterdam.
You can easily reach the most important sights of Amsterdam on foot. The staff are super friendly and courteous and will help you with all your questions about your city trip.
You have 25 tastefully furnished rooms to choose from, all of which are different sizes and inspired by different themes. For a vacation for two, there are stylish double rooms in a romantic style and cozy suites with plenty of space for the whole family.
For the high hotel prices in Amsterdam, The Hendrick’s offers excellent value for money, with a mega delicious breakfast included.
Boutique Hotel View
Spend the night with a fantastic view of Amsterdam’s canals? You can at Boutique Hotel View which is located in the Jordaan district.
The small hotel in a canal house in the middle of the canal belt impresses with 6 pretty rooms. The rooms are individually designed, but form a super inviting unit thanks to the soft, warm earth tones.
And even with the tiniest room, you’ll hit the jackpot here. You have a great view of the canal belt through pretty much every window. All you have to do now is order room service and drink your morning coffee in bed with a canal view.
All Amsterdam activities and many of Amsterdam’s great museums are just a stone’s throw away from Boutique Hotel View.
You’ll also find the lively Leidseplein nearby. There are lots of great restaurants and bars there and there’s always something going on in the evening. Great for going out in Amsterdam.
Mr. Jordaan
Feeling good is the order of the day at Mr. Jordaan. Although the small boutique hotel has been furnished with modern furniture, it has not lost the charm of the old building – quite the opposite! With its many wooden elements and matching decorations, the interior is simply super cozy.
The boutique hotel’s location in the hip Jordaan district is brilliant. There are lots of cute cafés and small boutiques just around the corner.
Some of the most beautiful sights such as the Royal Palace, the flower market, the Anne Frank House and the Basilica of St. Nicholas are just a few minutes’ walk away.
Very cool extras at Mr. Jordaan are the delicious free coffee throughout the day and a small farewell gift at check-out.
Tribe
Now it’s getting fancy! Tribe Amsterdam City is an ultra-modern hotel in the trendy and authentic Amsterdam-Noord district. It’s not just a place to stay in Amsterdam, but a real place to be.
The hotel offers a working area, which is great if you need to work during your Amsterdam city trip. If you just want to laze around after sightseeing, the beautiful communal lounge and large rooms are perfect.
All the rooms at Tribe are superbly equipped and the beds are simply cozy. You won’t hear any of the city noise in the rooms.
Also very important: the hotel is located right next to a metro station, from where you can get to the city center super quickly.
The July Twenty Eight
Twenty Eight is a cool aparthotel in the south of Amsterdam. You don’t just get a hotel room here, but a stylishly furnished apartment with beautiful designs. You have your own kitchen, a large bathroom and a living room all to yourself.
And yet you also have all the advantages of a hotel, such as a gym, a coworking space, a delicious breakfast and a 24-hour reception.
The Twenty Eight is therefore particularly suitable if you are in Amsterdam for a longer period of time and want to make yourself at home. You can reach the city center in around 20 minutes by metro. The popular Vondelpark is around a 15-minute walk away.
Conscious Hotel Museum Square
The Conscious Hotel is a really cool hotel in Amsterdam and at least as artistic as the museums around it.
The Museumplein with Amsterdam’s most famous art museums awaits you in the immediate vicinity. For example, the Rijkmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum. The city center is also within easy walking distance.
Unlike in the city center, the location on Museumplein is very quiet and the small number of 4 rooms makes the Conscious Hotel very intimate and personal. Simply great for switching off.
We also love the clean, modern furnishings. Every room here is reminiscent of a modern work of art.

The Highlander
The Highlander is also a small boutique hotel in Central Amsterdam. It that has been skillfully integrated into a historic canal house. We love this combination!
Here you stay surrounded by great sights. So as soon as you step outside the door in the morning, you’ll be right in the middle of the action.
And it’s not just the location that makes for a great start to the day, but also the hotel rooms. They are so individually and colorfully designed that you’ll be in a good mood as soon as you wake up. As wonderfully multicultural as Amsterdam itself.
Add to this a delicious, extensive breakfast in bed or in the cozy breakfast room and there really is nothing standing in the way of a perfect day in Amsterdam.
Motel One Amsterdam
You can never go wrong with an overnight stay in a Motel One. And Motel One Amsterdam is also a solid 3-star hotel with a fair price-performance ratio.
Of course, you can’t expect the extremely personal atmosphere of a hotel chain like you can in other Amsterdam boutique hotels, but you do benefit from the chain’s guaranteed good service.
The rooms are simple, but fully serve their purpose. Color comes into play in the lobby and breakfast room. And the breakfast menu here is really to our taste. Extensive, varied and really tasty.
And another big plus point is that dogs are allowed in the hotel.
Extra tip: Outside Inn
The Outside Inn is definitely not a classic boutique hotel in Amsterdam. But we think it’s so cool and unusual that we simply have to list it here.
At this accommodation, you don’t get your own room, but a camper. The campers are all parked under cover in the hotel, which has toilets and showers.
We particularly like the fact that there are seating areas in front of each camper and swings in the communal area with a green floor – almost like being out in nature!
The nearest metro station is only a 5-minute walk from the Outside Inn. From there, it’s a good 10-minute ride to the city center.
